Track Name: Rain Delay
I was standing sideways on the corner of the street my friend,
And I had told the sheriff that I was waiting for the world to end,
He told me I was crazy and that I was cracking up,
And I knew I couldn’t stop him until she had had enough,

We were laying in the crosswalk counting people as they passed,
And you turned to me and asked me how long I thought we would last,
I looked around and I could see that no one else had noticed me,
And I told you I was sorry, but I’m not the one to ask,

You were flying in the atmosphere; somewhere far away but far too near,
And it looked like you were listening for something you just couldn’t hear,
You came back down and you had found that I waiting on the ground,
And I was only wondering if you had heard the sound,

I can’t bring myself to wonder how it got to be this way,
I guess I was only waiting on the rain delay,
Well the cards are on the table and I’m hoping for a royal flush,
But I do believe that a perfect hand just may be asking for too much,

And we can save the city on a sunny day,
Maybe we’re just waiting on the rain delay,
And we can get the world back on their feet again some day,
We are only waiting for the rain delay,

Is there anybody out there who will try to play the game?
Or is there anybody listening who even feels the same?
You’ve got to rise up in the right direction and let your brother do the same,
You gotta let ‘em know where you are standing and take a little of the blame,

I said, “The stakes are high and the price is low” but I don’t really know how the saying goes,
And it’s the right time to look around baby maybe you can see what we have chosen,
I know you’ve always loved the summer, but you’re shooting up a lethal dose,
And this just ain’t the type of problem you can cool down with garden hose,

And we can save the city on a sunny day,
Maybe we’re just waiting on the rain delay,
And we can get the world back on their feet again some day,
We are only waiting for the rain delay,
Track Name: Spaceships in the Sky
I remember at night,
Without a rain cloud in sight,
It would still find means to fall,
And not upset us at all.

Spying the space ships on the darkest of nights,
Flying so high, like dots of light in the sky,
Stuck in a world run on broken egg timers,
And totally free of fast-paced time.

The world would be blessed to have seen such a way,
To have seen random lights sending photons astray,
While we lay in an open field.

It’s only now that I notice the moon looks the same from both sides,
Of the water of a lake,
It’s only a mirror,
Just from the other side,
So it’s all the same for us all.
Track Name: So So Young
Look around
And you can almost make it out
So listen loud
The all familiar sound

Ignore what’s said
And think about replacing it
With something wise and ignorant instead

Lo, I am ruptured
And no, it can’t be undone
We grow to understand that we are
So so young

You talk the talk
But have you ever walked the walk?
Please take the chance
It’s worth it either way

Run in place
While I create the context
I can think about
To bring about your face

Lo, I am ruptured
And no, it can’t be undone
We grow to understand that we are
So so young

Our fate isn't bound by chance or happenstance
‘Cause we alter both with the choices that we make

So stay up late
And pay no mind to circumstance
‘Cause in the end it’s the chances that we take

Lo, I am ruptured
And no, it can’t be undone
We grow to understand that we are
So so young
Track Name: The Settling Stone
I found you under the overpass,
You were praying the sounds of the cars wouldn’t last,
I sincerely wanted to say to you,
That I’m sorry what they put you through,
And I wish you’d come back home,

When the fire started I turned my head,
And you washed you face by the river bed,
And I watched my own reflection float away,

And I could drive for a million hours,
To pass through fields of country flowers,
If I could only find the power,
I’d hold my breath for you,

So please don’t ask to be left alone,
‘Cause life’s no fun when you’re on your own,
And it’s not too late and we’re not too old,
But I’m getting tired and you’re getting cold,
Maybe we can find the Settling Stone someday,

And I could drive for a million miles,
To pass through towns of country smiles,
If only for a little while,
I’d hold my breath for you,

Well the night is young and so are we,
And I’m as ready as I’ll ever be,
And I’d love for you to come with me,
Maybe we can find what they will never see.
Track Name: End of the Day
From the last look I took at my life,
Seventeen years to the day,
What did I say?
Did I throw it away?
Off to another day,
Back to a better way,
It’s the only time in my life that I’ve been afraid of changing.

For the first time in years,
I’m finally off on my own,
For the last time in yours,
You found me alone in the dark,
But I know that I’m going my own way,
To find the piece of the puzzle that fits.

Deep undercover of cotton and wool,
If I found a loose thread I’d instinctively pull,
At the fabric that keeps us apart, but it’s not,
It’s the fibers that constantly pull on my heart.

And your teeth, they all chatter,
And you’re shaking your knees,
While we act out the scenes from the birds and the bees,
And sometime the next morning we’ll eventually stop,
‘Cause I am the roll and you are the rock.

For the first time in years,
I’m finally off on my own,
For the last time in yours,
You found me alone in the dark,
But I know that I’m going my own way,
To find the piece of the puzzle that fits,

Over ten thousand mugs of the finest,
Coffees and cocoas and teas,
What do you please?
Will you have some with me?
Or at least what is left of me,
You know you’re the best of me,
And you’ll know that I did it my way,
To have something to talk about
At the end of the day.
Track Name: Window Seat
Lost and lonely are the days
Without here with me
And so the wise man says
Stuff this good just don’t grow on trees

I have stood the test of time
I guess there’s not much else I can do
And I can feel your hand in mine
But I’m still miles away from you

From the window seat I see
The peaks turn from white to green
But at night the dark sky
Paints them both a shade in between

I just can’t put my mind to ease
When we’re living in days like these
But even the blind man will believe
When he picks up his hammer and sees

That it’s a long way down
From the high you to give me
And I can hear the sound
Your voice still echoes in my dreams

From the window seat I see
The peaks turn from white to green
But at night the dark sky
Paints them both a shade in between

In the window seat I ride
And sleep now until I arrive
It’s no surprise that glass is colder than the air inside

I’m gonna sleep now, until I awake to you
Track Name: Snapping Twigs
On dark roads we drive,
As strangers passing through,
All roads lead to the same place,
But where that is is up to you,

And scan the radio for news,
And point of views,
To lift the visor and let the world shine through,

We were like twigs,
Snapping under the feet of the world,
We were like twigs,
Heaven’s just the name of a girl,

It’s only now I realize,
That these lenses before my eyes,
Disguise what was sitting right next to me,
And it’s there you’ll always be,

So you open the roof for me,
To let the moonlight guide me home.
Track Name: My Town
On the morning the train passed through my town,
Through the footpaths and finally on down,
Over the horn bridge at 6 am,
Passed the deli, but nobody’s up but them,

And just when I got all my roots down,
My mother, she said with a big frown,
“Honey, we’ve got to move on, you see”
And nobody smiled but me,

I can get older,
And I can go crazy,
Or I can move along,
And I can write you a new song,

Well I’d never been passed my own street sign,
Since the mayor told the town that he’d resign,
But why do I insist to hide,
And hope that somebody will find me?

I can get older,
And I can go crazy,
Or I can move along,
And I can write you a new song,

In the morning I still hear the whistle blow,
Lift the blinds and I peer through my window,
With hair getting thinner and getting curled,
Through a window is no way to see the world,

I can get older,
And I can go crazy,
Or I can move along,
And I can write you a new song,

I can get older,
And I can go crazy,
Or I can move along,
And I can write you a new song.
